The two words come together with so much need for understanding and complete disregard for the past…to erase an action, a thought, a feeling—how can one do that? When you hide something it become prominent.
I know the words, see them, hear them, feel them, utter them, & wish they would flutter through space more than the pigeons that toxify the world. Today I understand that this summation is NOT GREATER than the sum of its parts; that in fact this combination is more like a divider—of emotions, relationships, countries & life.
Did you ever see the movie “Love Story?” It was declared in unison by two of my guy friends as ‘the saddest movie ever made.’ The movie prophetizes that if I love someone there is no need to say those words. I suppose that before I could ever compose the thought, that it should not, and indeed, does not exist.
Enough of the use of this combination of letters, consonants, vowels, spaces, periods, exclamation points, and/or question marks. It is a phantom word & one that was seen but never to be spoken again. So if this phrase is about to enter into a conversation I will (as should the world) oust it out! Decipher the reason it appeared, damn phantom, think deep about what it would be covering up, and then dig it up, expose it for the false sense of protection it provided. Rip the blanket out of all of our hands, and leave us stranded- empty and free of the weight of the words.
